The Future of Technology as it relates to teachers!

Technology is a wonderful tool in the education world, but it can also be a frightening idea for many.  I know of many teachers who don't use technology in the classrooms because they do not know how.  Technology is changing so rapidly, that they are saying that in the future there could be less teachers and near to none of student contact face to face, everything will be taught online over the computer.  I guess if you don't have  a handle on technology, now is a good chance to get ahold on it.

How would you handle a teacher who is refusing to "learn" the new technology? They are close to retiring (2-3 years), and it is important that they understand how to use the media available to them in the building? What steps do you take as an administrator? How do you address a teacher who never checks their email and has verbally announced to everyone on the staff that they want a hard copy of the memos instead of an electronic version?
